SWELL ECO LODGE - Mdumbi

Swell Eco Lodge offers traditional Xhosa Rondavel structures that blend into the rolling hills. Rooms include private bathrooms, soundproof walls, free WiFi, and a tea/coffee maker. Some units have sea views overlooking the Mdumbi River and Wild Coast.

Breakfast can be served in your room. The property has a shared kitchen, BBQ facilities, and offers packed lunches. Kids' meals and special diet menus are available on request.

Two outdoor pools with views of the ocean and surrounding hills provide sun loungers and beach chairs. Guests can enjoy canoeing, hiking, walking tours, and a tour about local Xhosa culture. The lodge is directly on the beachfront.

Set in the village of Mngcibe on the north side of the Mdumbi River, the lodge is part of the Wild Coast in Transkei, South Africa. The last 40 km from Mtatha are on a gravel road, requiring a high-clearance vehicle (4x4 recommended after rain). Once there, you have access to pristine beaches, rolling hills, and rural village life.

Services include private check-in/check-out, daily housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and babysitting. A minimarket is on site. The property offers picnic areas, a sun terrace, board games, and managed parking. Pets are allowed. 24-hour security and key access ensure safety.
