Rooms and Suites

Rooms at On the Beach Guesthouse come in several types: standard doubles, deluxe doubles with ocean views, family suites, and a penthouse suite. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a seating area. Many rooms have private balconies overlooking the Indian Ocean. The penthouse suite offers panoramic sea views. Some rooms have a small kitchenette or full kitchen. Bathrooms are private with showers. Air conditioning and heating are provided.

Dining and Breakfast

Breakfast is a la carte, served in the upstairs lounge with ocean views. Cold items come from a buffet, hot items are ordered. An honesty bar operates all day with drinks and snacks. An on-site brew pub serves gourmet tapas and craft beers. BBQ facilities and picnic tables are available outside. There is no restaurant for other meals, but many dining spots like De Viswijf are a short drive away.

Beach and Activities

The guesthouse has direct beach access via a locked gate. Guests can use sun loungers and beach chairs. The property is right on Jeffrey's Bay, known for surfing. Hiking and biking trails are nearby. On-site activities include board games and puzzles. There is no pool or gym. The upstairs lounge offers 180-degree ocean views where you may spot dolphins.

Location and Access

On the Beach Guesthouse is on the Indian Ocean, 1.5 km north of the Supertubes surf break. It is 50 minutes from Port Elizabeth Airport by car. Nearby attractions include the Jeffrey's Bay Shell Museum, Clapton's Beach dining and shops, and various hiking and biking trails. A small shopping center is across the road, but a car is needed for full access to restaurants and attractions.

Guest Services

Services include daily housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, and ironing. Concierge and currency exchange are available. Guests get private check-in/check-out. Airport shuttle, car hire, and shuttle service can be arranged. Room service is offered. The hotel is pet-friendly and has family rooms. Safety features include CCTV, security alarm, and safety deposit box. Free Wi-Fi works throughout the property.
