About the Hotel
Colonial-Style Tents
The camp has only three colonial-style tents. Each tent includes a private patio, outdoor seating, and a wood-fired hot tub. The tents feature military campaign-style furniture and rustic bathrooms with modern facilities like a flushing toilet and hot shower.
Meals at the Boma
All meals and beverages are served in the communal boma bonfire area. Breakfast includes homemade bread, eggs, bacon, and beans. Dinner is cooked over the fire, with dishes like kudu stew and braai. A bar offers wine, champagne, and special diet menus are available.
Safari Activities
Guests enjoy two game drives per day, each lasting about four hours, led by knowledgeable guides. Walking safaris, bird watching, and horse riding are offered. An overnight trail to a cave includes a walking safari and sleeping under a rock overhang. The hot tub is available after drives.
Game Reserve Location
Quatermain's is inside the Amakhala Game Reserve, a Big 5 reserve. Addo Elephant Park is 50 km away, Grahamstown 47 km, and Port Elizabeth is a 45-minute drive. Port Elizabeth Airport is one hour by car.
Available Services
The camp provides airport shuttle (pick up and drop off), daily housekeeping, shuttle service, and invoice support. An outdoor fireplace, garden, and designated smoking area are on site. The camp is non-smoking indoors.
