NDLOVU ADDO RIVER LODGE - Kirkwood

The lodge offers chalets, studios, and holiday homes, each with a private terrace or garden overlooking the Sundays River. Rooms include a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, air conditioning, a tea/coffee maker, and a kitchenette. Some units feature an outdoor shower, hot tub, or fireplace. Beds have luxury linen and extra blankets for colder nights.

There is no restaurant, but guests can order homemade meals delivered to their cottage. Options include breakfast baskets (dropped off at your door), frozen dinners like lasagne and waffles that you heat in an air fryer or oven. The kitchenette is fully equipped for self-catering, and a BBQ with provided wood is available on the terrace.

Guests can use canoes to paddle on the Sundays River, fish from the private jetty, or swim in the outdoor pool. The lodge organizes guided game drives to Addo Elephant National Park and Schotia Private Reserve with guide Francois. On-site facilities include a BBQ area, sun terrace, picnic area, and a short walking trail. Birdlife includes fish eagles, kingfishers, and nightjars.

Ndlovu Addo River Lodge is set on a working citrus farm along the Sundays River, 20-30 minutes' drive from the main gate of Addo Elephant National Park. The nearest supermarket is Addo Spar about 20 minutes away. Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport is 82 km from the lodge. Access is via a gravel road (can be challenging after rain).

The hosts Sophia and Luc communicate via WhatsApp and provide private check-in/out. Services include daily housekeeping, 24-hour security with CCTV and fire extinguishers, free WiFi, and free parking. Guest can order safari tours and meals directly. Canoes and pool towels are provided. The lodge is fully solar-powered and unaffected by load-shedding.
