Self-Catering Cottages and Chalets
Accommodations include thatched-roof wooden cottages with elevated decks, open-air showers, and flushable toilets. Each comes with a refrigerator and a braai for self-catering. The chalets are air-conditioned, have private bathrooms, and feature a traditional Lapa with porcupine quill lamps. Bush cabins offer outdoor kitchens and bathrooms, and the Dung Beetle rooms are shaped like dung beetles with indoor or outdoor amenities. Some units overlook the Zuurberg Mountains and citrus plantations.
Leisure
The property has a natural splash pool and an outdoor swimming pool with views. Guests can use sun loungers and enjoy the garden. Onsite spa services include back, neck, and full-body massages. Game drives to Addo Elephant National Park can be arranged. Children's playground and outdoor furniture are available. The shaded terraces provide valley views.
Near Addo Elephant Park
The guest farm is 5 km from the main gate of Addo Elephant National Park, on a working citrus farm. It sits on a hilltop overlooking the Zuurberg Mountains. Port Elizabeth is 65 km away; Indian Ocean beaches are a 45-minute drive. The access road is gravel (approximately 2-3 km from the main road). Free private parking is provided.
Services
Free WiFi and parking are included. The property offers 24-hour security, fire extinguishers, and security alarms. Laundry service, private check-in/check-out, and shuttle service (surcharge) are available. Invoice provided. Family rooms and non-smoking rooms throughout. The guest farm is open year-round.
“Addo Dung Beetle Guest Farm truly shines with its distinctive bush cottages, offering an immersive natural experience with their open-air bathrooms that create a remarkable connection to the surroundings. The staff's genuine warmth and attentiveness are consistently noted, contributing to a peaceful stay that is conveniently close to the Addo Elephant Park, making it an appealing base for exploration.”
